In memory of California's Marion Coleman

We are saddened by the loss of as significant a culture and tradition bearer as African-American quilter and 2018 National Heritage Fellow Marion Coleman. Joint Committee on the Arts to hold creative economy hearing

The California Arts Council will participate in a Joint Committee on the Arts Informational Hearing on Wednesday, May 15. Chaired by Senator Ben Allen, Riding the Wave of the Creative Economy: Growth, Challenges and Building Education Equity into the Jobs Pipeline will explore the successes of and consider opportunities for the arts and culture sector of our state's economy. The hearing is scheduled for 9 a.m. in Room 2040 of the state Capitol. Arts Plate marketing consultant wanted - apply by May 14

The California Arts Council is seeking a qualified full-service marketing agency or consultant to develop and execute a marketing campaign for the California Arts License Plate. The selected contractor will provide comprehensive marketing services in order to build awareness and increase sales of the California Arts Plate, including branding positioning, messaging, graphic design, marketing and media planning, digital strategy, advertising and website management.
