Get published by Askew Lit. We are following NPR rules (140 character limit, 3 poems max) except that submissions should be sent in the body of an email (no attachments) to askewlit@gmail.com. Haiku is acceptable, but senryu is preferred. Any topic because who can put a limit on poetic creativity, but judges are looking for originality, freshness, and pieces free of hackneyed elements. Here is an example of an excellent submission that subverts the form and dominant paradigm while managing to be fresh, fun, and original. Look under the cap of the next bottled tea you drink, for there may be a 6 Word Poem under it. And if six words can convey a meaningful and often funny message, imagine what 140 characters can do in creative hands. It comes from a Beat Poet:
walk down city streets
look up at birds overhead
pigeons: a high coo
